An investigation of off-balanced yet precise multi-focused movement. Classes begin with mindful walking and body rolling practices to gather attention and set a tone of tender touch. From there, dancers progress through a series of spiraling sequences that establish a buoyant relationship with the floor, harness forces of momentum, and demand intricate expression of the limbs. Sequences eventually combine into dynamic performance phrases. Interplay with music offers an exchange of texture, rhythmic challenge, and nuance.

PAUL MATTESON has been presented by Danspace Project, Symphony Space, Dance Theater Workshop and most recently by the American Dance Festival. Paul danced with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and David Dorfman Dance and has worked with many inspiring choreographers and dancing visionaries. He has taught at numerous festivals, colleges, and universities and is currently full-time faculty at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
