IMPROVISATION AS TECHNIQUE
"Replace ambition with curiosity" - Nancy Stark Smith

We will practice a variety of improvisational "scores" or guidelines and games which support your technical and artistic development. Improvisation is the study of making spontaneous choices in the moment- which, if you think about it, we are doing ALL THE TIME, in life! So, we are studying our own relationship to why we choose what we choose, what we see as possible within each score, and broaden our understanding of how improvisation is used in dance making. By improvising, we become more coordinated, articulate, confident, curious and aware.
