ABOUT US: We are a team of 9 pre-professional performing artists, joining together to curate and launch the first SCDT TEEN SCREEN FESTIVAL! Individually, we create, perform, and present works with Hatchery Dance Company of SCDT, and The Performance Project's First Generation Theater Company!
As interdisciplinary performing artists, we have always been interested in the intersections of dance, theater, and film. The pandemic has given us the time and opportunity to develop our artistry in the virtual performance world.
We are launching this new series to connect teens across the nation by sharing and showcasing their diverse, contemporary perspectives. The SCDT Teen Screen Festival is designed and run by teens with the intention to represent the essential voices of young artists during these times of struggle, change, and growth in our world.
CURATION CRITERIA: Through this open international call, we were looking for creative films that were developed before or during the pandemic. The SCDT TEEN SCREEN FESTIVAL invites young filmmakers (ages 13-19) to submit short films (maximum duration 8 minutes) in which elements of dance, theater, and cinematography are included.
