CYNTHIA MCLAUGHLIN
        SCDT BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Cynthia McLaughlin is an artist, teacher, director and choreographer. Originally based in Washington DC, Cynthia McLaughlin performed, collaborated and served as rehearsal director with Boris Willis Moves for 12 years, performing her own and Willis' work at such venues as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Dance Place.  Most recently her work was presented as part of DUMBO Dance Festival in New York City.   In 2017, as a Whiting Fellow, she travelled to Singapore to conduct research for her project “Contemporary Dance Invests in New Technologies”.  Based in Western Massachusetts she has received fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to create public installation and performance work.  Her collaborations with photographer Joanna Chattman, video artist Sarah Bliss and TinyCrush Society have been presented across New England.  She is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Dance at Keene State College, serves on the board of The School for Contemporary Dance and Thought, and lives with her family in Colrain, MA.  Her greatest goal is to help to create lasting ecosystems for sustainable and effective dance communities.
