EMILY LUKASEWSKI
Emily Lukasewski is an experimental dance artist originally based in Chicago, IL where she co-founded and co-directed Laboratory Dancers, a multimedia performance collective. Through Laboratory Dancers, Emily produced regular performances, classes, and events held in collaboration with artists such as cellists, rappers, painters, opera singers, actors, writers, and more. Emily has taught regular professional-level Contemporary Dance, Partnerwork, and Improvisation classes at the Fulton Street Collective and Rumble Arts Center in Chicago and modern, hip hop, ballet and improvisation classes at Mount Holyoke College and Smith College. Emily’s choreographic work has been performed at various locations in Chicago as well as across the United States in venues such as Seattle’s Washington Hall and Portland’s Star Theater. In addition to Laboratory Dancers, she was a company member with Mordine &Co. and We Stand Sideways. She has performed in works by Delfos Danza Contemporanea, David Dorfman, Lisa Gonzales, Festival Ballet of Rhode Island, Kate Corby and others. Emily holds a BA in Dancemaking from Columbia College Chicago and an MFA from Smith College. |
