KABISKO KABA
Kabisko Kaba is originally from Guinea and has more than 28 years professional dance experience. Kabisko came to the U.S. in 1998 with his world renowned dance company, Les Merveille de Guinea. In 2000, Kabisko began a 5-year residency with the prestigious Lincoln Center in N.Y., where he taught students about Guinean art and culture and performed in many different venues. In 2005, Kabisko was a resident performing artist at Walt Disney World where he performed daily for patrons. In 2007 Kabisko relocated to Western MA and was a teaching artist at the U. of Massachusetts, Smith College, Mt. Holyoke College and Hampshire College. Presently, Kabisko teaches at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts (PVPA) Charter School in Western MA. Kabisko offers weekly drum and dance classes in Northampton MA and choreographs dance and drum performance pieces for companies throughout the U.S. As an artist, Kabisko is well known for his passion and demonstrated commitment to excellence in his teaching, choreography and storytelling. |
